Who we are

Milestone is a service operated by JangleMonkey.com. We help people collect photos from events by sharing a link or QR code with guests. For privacy matters, contact us at thejanglemonkey@gmail.com.

Why we process your data

We process personal data to provide the service you request, communicate with users, and operate the platform. Specifically: to create and manage event pages, notify guests when photos are available, and (where you have opted in) send occasional marketing emails.

What we collect

• Name and email address — collected from hosts when they sign up, and from guests when they upload photos. Used to operate the service and send notifications.
• Photos and videos — uploaded by guests and stored on behalf of the event host. You retain ownership of any content you upload.
• Event details — event name, type, and date, provided by the host.
• Marketing opt-in — if you check the opt-in box, we may send you occasional emails about related products and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• Authentication cookies — we use cookies to keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary for the service to function.

Who we share your data with

• Supabase — our database and file storage provider. Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• Resend — our email delivery provider. Your email address is passed to Resend solely to send transactional and notification emails.
• Event hosts — if you upload photos as a guest, the host of that event can see your name, email, and uploaded files.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

International data transfers

We use cloud infrastructure providers whose servers may be located in countries other than your own. Your data may therefore be processed and stored internationally. Where this occurs, we rely on our providers' data processing agreements and standard contractual mechanisms to protect your data.

How long we keep your data

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded photos are retained for 90 days after an event is closed, after which they may be permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion at any time — see Your rights below.

Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information — including encrypted connections, access controls, and using established infrastructure providers. However, no system can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at thejanglemonkey@gmail.com.

Host responsibilities

Event hosts are responsible for obtaining any permissions or consents necessary from their guests before collecting or sharing photos through this service. Milestone provides the platform; the host's relationship with their guests is the host's own responsibility.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. We also recognise that photos uploaded through the service may depict minors (for example, at birthday parties or family events). If you believe any content involving a child has been uploaded without appropriate consent, or if you have concerns about content depicting a minor, please contact us at thejanglemonkey@gmail.com and we will review and remove it promptly.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request:

• Email thejanglemonkey@gmail.com with your request and the email address associated with your account.
• We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete the request within 30 days.
• Deletion requests will result in removal of your account data and any uploaded content. Event hosts may retain exported copies they downloaded before deletion.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (such as an email to registered hosts). We encourage you to review this page periodically.
